The core loop

play -> gain XP -> climb tiers -> leave the server -> lose most of your XP,
convert it into permanent Rejoin Multiplier -> idle XP ticks faster -> climb higher

That is the whole game. Everything else is a modifier on one of those arrows.

Layer Trigger What it costs What it gives
Rejoin leaving the server a percentage of your XP, minus your loss barrier permanent Rejoin Multiplier
Sacrifice manual, at spawn, Tier 7+, 900 s cooldown all of your XP a larger multiplier, resets the rejoin chain

They stack. Rejoin is the fast, cheap, constant one. Sacrifice is the deliberate one you do when your current run has peaked. See Rejoining and Sacrifice.

Why the multiplier matters more than the XP

Section titled “Why the multiplier matters more than the XP”

Your idle income is RejoinMultiplier x time, multiplied by a stack of boosts. XP in your pocket buys you tier, which buys you power and abilities. Multiplier buys you rate, and rate is what carries across runs.

So the question at every moment is not “how much XP do I have” but “is my current XP worth more to me as tier, or as multiplier?” Below Tier 19 you only lose 1 % on leaving, so the answer is almost always: keep climbing. From Tier 37 up you lose 70 %, and the answer flips.

Leaving repeatedly in a short window builds a rejoin chain: +5 % idle XP per chained rejoin, capped at 4x. The chain timer gains 60 seconds per join and caps at 600 seconds. Let it run out and the count resets to zero.

This is why the efficient pattern is short sessions, not one long one.

Every one of these is a separate multiplier on the idle tick:

  • ServerXPBoost — from Lucky and Hyper Stars, decays back toward 1
  • GlobalXPBoost — a cross-server value, the same for everyone
  • ControlPointBoost — from holding the hill or the castle
  • RejoinChainMulti — up to 4x
  • PersonalActivityMulti — up to 3x, from your own kills and orbs
  • FriendIdleBoost — +5 % per friend in your server, capped at 1.25x
  • Clan bonus — a percentage from your clan’s upgrades
  • Premium — a flat additive bonus on top
